ANRI Handmade Chess Set Wood Storage Chest Box Vintage 1970's. Satin lined padded cover inside the lid. Carved handles on lift out tray. Research shows this chest was originally made to safely store a high end handcarved chess set made by same italian company, ANRI. Inside contains a lift out tray.

There are 32 total slots with 16 compartments on each layer to hold individual chess pieces. Front brass folding type latch closure. ANRI was a company in Italy where craftsman handmade giftable wood items such as chess sets, music and jewelry boxes.

They are still in business and have a website but have ceased making chess sets. The older sets are highly collectible. This is only the box but for one who has the chess pieces or any cherished chess set, and wishes to store them safely, this is the perfect chest to keep them.

11-1/2" wide by 8-1/4" long by 3-1/4 deep. Inside tray is 10-1/2" wide x 7-1/2" long x 1-1/4 deep.

Each slot is 1-1/4" wide by either 4" (lower row) or 2-3/4 (upper row) long. Review photos for full details and to confirm stated condition. Pics are vital part of description to show fine details and any flaws.
