English ebony & boxwood Staunton pattern chessmen by Jaques of London. Both kings stamped JAQUES LONDON , king side rooks & knights with crown stamps. Pieces with green felted bases. This set is a tournament size set. Kings 9.5 CM (3.75) Tall and 100g in weight. All the pieces are weighted. Graduating from 100g to pawn at 25g. Set retains original French polished finish.

Comes in original Oak box with green baized lined interior. Jaques & Son /Staunton signed paper trade label to lid. This has the original working key.

The box and contents weigh 2.28kg. The design of this set is known in the modern codex as the Hartston. It's in really lovely condition. Please check over the photos - ask if you need more photos or details.
