HERE ON OFFER IS THE BATTLE OF WATERLOO DRAUGHTS SET BY FRANKLIN MINT AND "WATERLOO MUSEUM" 200th ANNIVERSARY OF THE EPIC "BATTLE OF WATERLOO" the 17th june 2015 Prince Charles has unveiled a memorial to the British soldiers who fought and died at the Battle of Waterloo. This impressive draughts set was issued, by subscription only, by the Waterloo Museum through the Franklin Mint in 1987. The 24 fine solid pewter draughts pieces (embellished with a band of red or blue enamel) are authentic portrait sculptures designed by the distinguished military artist Philip J. Each piece is individually crafted and represent a different character the draughts diameter is 29 mm and are 6 mm thick The box is also a display in Mhogany wood with a inscribed brass plaque on the lid which still have the protective film on it, on the inside there is a double tray (lid and base)in burgundy color with shaped niches for each pieces size 27 x 19 x 5.5 cms or 10.5 x 7.5 x 2.25 the unwrapped weight is 1.350 Kg c. All the Draughts men are in pristine hardly used condition but there is a tiny chip to the blue enamel band on the Napoleon draught as per photo there may be few light sign among the sets, The box in clean condition just some of tiny dents and few marks hardly noticeable I have described this lot as I see it so please take a look to the photos provided and make up your mind.
